Tom was a career banker, accumulating over 40 years’ experience in the industry, primarily in the wholesale and investment banking sectors, before establishing his own investment and financial consulting company in 2009. He has extensive business start-up and development experience as well as broad executive level management skills. He specialized in project, structured, asset based and corporate finance which was undertaken world-wide and incorporated parallel ambassadorial roles with emphasis on EMEA and Asia/Pacific. Key previous roles include:

• Head of Project Finance, Europe, Middle East & Africa, Deutsche Bank
• Established and headed Global Project & Export Finance, The Royal Bank of Scotland
• Established and headed RBS Project Investments
• Established and Chaired RBS Australia

Tom’s career resulted in substantial structuring and negotiating experience, as both a lender/investor and as a borrower, the latter courtesy of his consulting activities since 2009.

During his banking career, he advised on, arranged and syndicated hundreds of billions of dollars of loan facilities for transactions in a multitude of industries and countries around the world. These included the first limited recourse loan for the development of an oil field in Africa, the first project loan for a public/private partnership in the UK and the first investment of equity by a bank, in parallel to debt, for stand-alone projects in Europe.
